Early Learning Center Referral and Enrollment Specialist

Position type: Part-time. Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. (25 hours a week)

Location: 801 West Marshall Building, Norristown, PA

Reports to: Early Learning Center Director

JOB OVERVIEW

The Early Learning Center Education Assistant is responsible for ensuring the safety of the center’s premises, staff, young learners, and students. This individual will manage the entrance, monitor and control the flow of people, and protect the rooms where younger learners and after-school students are located. The role requires a strong presence, excellent communication skills, and a high level of courtesy and enthusiasm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Entrance Management: Guard the main entrance of the building, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises.
  • Crowd Control: Manage the flow of people transiting through the center, maintaining order and safety.
  • Room Protection: Monitor and protect the rooms where younger learners are located, always ensuring their safety.
  • Safety Standards: Ensure all safety standards and protocols are met, conducting regular checks and reporting any issues.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and visitors, providing clear instructions and assistance as needed.
  • Administration: Support with different administrative tasks such as Data Entry and other office tasks, maintaining the desk tidy, and being the face of ACLAMO.
  • Authority and Respect: Display a strong level of authority and respect, always maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Courtesy and Enthusiasm: Exhibit a high level of courtesy and enthusiasm, creating a welcoming and secure environment for all.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Previous experience in security, safety, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage crowds and handle stressful situations.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Certifications: Relevant safety certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge: Ability to manage technology such as automatic entry and exit control systems, Outlook, Office 365, etc.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish.
  • Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic, courteous, authoritative, and respectful.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Hours: Part-time position, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM (25 hours a week). 
  • Environment: Early Learning Center setting, After School classrooms area, interacting with children, staff, and parents.
