Development and Communications Associate

JOB OVERVIEW

The Development and Communications Associate is an entry-level position which is primarily responsible for assisting the Senior Director of Development and Communications carry out the implementation of fund development activities for ACLAMO. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Executive Director to provide senior-level administrative, development and organizational support.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the field of fundraising and development and Grant writing.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in communications, English, business administration, human services or a related field, experience a plus.
  • Bilingual Recommended (English/Spanish) 
  • Full-time, work schedule 9:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Flexible work arrangement: remote and on-site work 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in generating proposals and supporting documentation in response to solicitations.
  • Assists in generating revenue for client programs and services through timely submission of well-researched, well-written, and well-documented grant/fund-raising proposals.
  • Assists the Director of Development in Grant research, tracking, and writing the proposals.
  • Maintains and implements funding calendar activities. 
  • Writes reports to government, corporations, foundations, and other funders. 
  • Acts as liaison with program staff for grant reporting and completion of proposals.
  • Identifies funding opportunities and new program areas to match the client’s priorities and the organization’s mission using research tools. 
  • Provides accurate and timely processing of gifts and acknowledgment letters. 
  • Coordinates events logistics for agency fundraisers. 
  • Assists in preparation, execution, and guest relations for fundraising events.
  • Handles administrative details associated with Development Department meetings (i.e. prepares and distributes notices, agendas, minutes, action items, etc).  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in communications, English, business administration, human services, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the field of fundraising and development.  
  • Grant writing experience a plus. 
  • Bilingual Recommended (English/Spanish). 

This position requires the candidate to possess and maintain the following three clearances:     

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check; 
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance. 
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check.
