Virtual town hall aims to boost vaccine confidence

ACLAMO’s Executive Director and CEO, Nelly Jimenez-Arevalo, participated as a panelist in a virtual town hall, “The Importance of Vaccines: Building Trust within Communities of Color”, aimed to shed light on key facts about the COVID-19 vaccine and share insight regarding the importance of communication, language, and cultural competency when discussing a roll-out plan.

Ms. Jimenez said, “The message is important, but for me, the most important [aspect] is the messenger. It needs to be someone the community knows and can trust to have their best interests at heart and talk to people in a language they understand.”
