- Job Type: Full-time, 100% on-site at the Norristown location
- Schedule: 8-hour day shift, Monday to Friday, no nights, no weekends. 10 months school year schedule. We prioritize personalized attention with a small number of students per class.
Education Requirements
- Pennsylvania Pre-K Teaching Certification (required)
- Pre-K Counts PA State Certification (required)
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, child development, special education, elementary education OR
- An associate’s degree
- 30 hours in the above categories and 3 years of experience
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are always safe
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as mediator among children
Skills
- Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher
- Proven experience in the Creative Curriculum
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms

- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
- Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen
- Certification in child CPR
- BSc/BA in education or relevant field
- Valid license to practice profession
Special Notes
- This position requires visual and auditory acuity and the physical ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
- Must be able to adjust, lift, carry, or move objects up to 35 pounds in all directions.
- Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods, walk, and work on your feet for a minimum of 6 hours at a time.
Must obtain the following three clearances:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
- Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check.
