Bilingual Digital Navigator

JOB OVERVIEW

The Bilingual Digital Navigator will spearhead initiatives to bridge our community members with essential services, internet access, and enhancement of digital skills. 

Reports to: Education Program Manager

Location: ACLAMO – Different sites 

Position Type: Contractor (1099). This position is set to conclude on September 30, 2025.

  • The Digital Navigator position is a contractor position for 25 hours a week, Monday through Friday. The schedule is flexible but does require some evening hours and Saturdays. 
  • Work type: Contract (1099) from November 2024 to September 20, 2025, with the potential for renewal.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support individuals and families to sign up for free or affordable internet access. 
  • Provide information to families to obtain low-cost computers and devices.   
  • Support families in getting basic technical support. 
  • Help clients troubleshoot connectivity issues or connect them with other partners. 
  • Participate in PHLConnectED meetings and events. 
  • Facilitate Spanish language digital literacy programs and classes for community members. 
  • Organize and facilitate digital skills workshops. 
  • Offer one-on-one personalized support to individuals requiring assistance with digital tools, including referrals from the 211 hotline.  
  • Complete intakes for digital navigation clients and track services 
  • Participate in outreach activities to promote digital navigator services in the community.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree from an accredited college, community college or university or any related field OR a high school diploma and 2 years of experience in the field of education.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish
  • Technologically Savvy, Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through in a timely manner. 
  • Work with a variety of data management using standardized methods and job-related equipment including abilitythe ability to enter and track client’s data. 
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal. 
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills. 
  • Believe in the academic potential and human growth of all students.

Must obtain the following three clearances:

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check
