Last month, ACLAMO’s Director of Development & Communications,
Dr. Doug Ferguson, had a chance to meet and listen to the new CEO of PECO, David Vahos, at a regional partnership event.
PECO is an important partner for ACLAMO through its Customer Relief Fund, which is currently underway to assist local customers with their heating and cooling bills, including electricity and natural gas.

A few weeks ago, we welcomed Yani Ortiz, Director of Grants, Scholarships, and Technology at the Montgomery County Foundation, Inc., to ACLAMO. Her visit provided a valuable opportunity to highlight the impact of our programs, connect around our shared commitment to community empowerment, and discuss new ways to strengthen our partnership.

Protecting Our Community: ACLAMO’s Vaccination Clinic
|
|
|
Last month, ACLAMO partnered with the Health Department and Giant Pharmacy to host our first vaccination clinic of the fall season. During the event, community members received COVID-19, Influenza (Flu), and Tdap vaccines, with a total of 91 doses administered.
We are proud to support the health and well-being of our community, from children to seniors, and remain committed to ensuring accessible, preventative care for all.

Power Home Remodeling Lends a Powerful Hand to ACLAMO

We were thrilled to welcome our new friends from Power Home Remodeling. Their dedicated members from their Hispanic and Latino Affinity Group, Mi Gente, generously stepped in to help ACLAMO settle into our new location and brought incredible energy to supporting our Food Pantry.
A heartfelt thank-you to Chelsea Isaac and the entire Power Home team. We truly appreciate their commitment and look forward to partnering again soon. Power Home continues to be a remarkable force for good in our community.

ACLAMO Advocates for Food Security at the State Capitol
|
|
|
ACLAMO’s Community Service and Advocacy Specialist, Jacob McCrea joined food pantries from Philadelphia and surrounding counties for an Advocacy Day hosted by the SHARE Food Program.
Throughout the day, participants met with state legislators at the Capitol to urge passage of the state budget, ensuring food pantries can begin receiving critical funding and support. ACLAMO met with Senator Amanda Cappelletti’s staff and Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Joanna E. McClinton, to discuss the urgent need for food assistance across our communities.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to George Matysik, Executive Director of the SHARE Food Program, for his leadership and dedication in organizing this important advocacy event.
ACLAMO remains committed to advocating Montgomery County residents and working to reduce food insecurity throughout the region.

ACLAMO Joins Call for Emergency Food Support
|
|
|
Last month, ACLAMO joined a press conference hosted by the Montgomery County Commissioners and the MontCo Anti-Hunger Network at Manna on Main Street to address recent cuts to SNAP benefits.
Commissioners Neil Makhija and Jamila Winder, along with advocates and Representative Steve Malagari, urged legislators to use all emergency resources to support SNAP funding.
