Luis first joined the ACLAMO community as a third-grade student, arriving with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a drive to learn. Over the years, our staff and volunteers watched him grow, not only academically, but as a confident young leader committed to giving back. 

Today, Luis is a sophomore at Temple University, pursuing a degree in Secondary Education. Even while managing his studies, he continues to invest in the next generation as one of ACLAMO’s lead instructors. His journey reflects the profound impact that access to support, resources, and encouragement can have on young people.

Celebrating Dedication and Gratitude at ACLAMO 

Last month, ACLAMO proudly celebrated the extraordinary commitment of our team and welcomed the Board Vice-President, Steven L. Sullivan, to join in the festivities. Along with these special recognitions, our staff also enjoyed a warm and joyful Thanksgiving celebration, creating a meaningful space to reflect, connect, and honor the spirit of gratitude. 

During the event, we recognized seven staff members who have dedicated more than 15 years of service to ACLAMO, as well as ten additional team members who have served for over 5 years, including our Executive Director and CEO. Their passion, resilience, and unwavering dedication are truly the heart of ACLAMO. 

The celebration also highlighted the recipients of this year’s Gratitude Awards, honoring individuals who exemplify excellence, compassion, innovation, and teamwork.

A Visit from the VNA Foundation from Greater North Penn: Growing Impact Through Partnership

We are sincerely grateful to the VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn for its steadfast belief in ACLAMO’s mission. Their generous support helps us expand access to health services and resources in Lansdale, ensuring we continue to build stronger and healthier communities. 

ACLAMO Joins the GET HELP NOW Campaign 

ACLAMO is proud to join the GET HELP NOW

campaign, an effort dedicated to raising awareness about addiction support and recovery resources. The campaign highlights Pennsylvania’s 24/7 substance use helpline and encourages individuals and families to reach out for judgment-free support whenever they need it.

We are committed to spreading the word, so people know that there is a way out, that recovery is possible, and that anyone can take back their life. Hope and help are here.

Mammogram Screening Van event 

ACLAMO proudly partnered with Jefferson to host a Mammogram Event, where 15 clients completed their screening. Initiatives like this play a vital role in supporting community health. Mammograms remain one of the most effective tools for the early detection of breast cancer, dramatically improving treatment outcomes and saving lives. 

A Powerful Day of Service at ACLAMO: HIAS Intake Clinic

ACLAMO recently hosted a highly successful HIAS Intake Clinic, providing vital support to 25 clients in need. This day of service was made possible through the dedication of 17 pro bono attorneys, volunteers, and paralegals who generously donated their time and expertise. 

We extend our sincere gratitude to Intake Attorney Rona Gershon and Brenda Nogales, Program Manager for Crisis & Humanitarian Response, for their leadership and coordination. We also thank our Social Services Department for their valuable partnership throughout the event. 

Together, we continue to strengthen and empower our community. 

Celebrating Community at ACLAMO’s Seniors Winter Fest 

On December 11th, ACLAMO hosted the annual Seniors Winter Fest, bringing together seniors and their families for a joyful day filled with connection, celebration, and community support. The energy in the room was vibrant as participants enjoyed a lively mix of music, ZUMBA, raffles, prizes, and delicious seasonal foods and drinks. 

Beyond the festivities, the event offered valuable resources to support the well-being of our senior community. Guests benefited from an informative Mental Health talk, providing insights and tools to promote emotional wellness during the winter season. In addition, our partners at HIAS were onsite offering a one-on-one immigration intake clinic, ensuring families had access to trusted guidance and support. 

The Seniors Winter Fest was a beautiful reminder of the power of community, of coming together to celebrate, learn, and uplift one another. We look forward to continuing to create spaces where our seniors feel valued, supported, and connected.

ACLAMO’s Ambassadors for Education Celebrate School Funding Wins – FESF Advocacy Meeting

ACLAMO was pleased to take part in the recent School Funding Informational Session. During the event, our ACLAMO Advocates: Ambassadors for Education gained valuable insights into the new funding Pennsylvania schools will receive following the passage of the state budget. We look forward to participating in future sessions and continuing to strengthen our role as advocates for equitable public-school funding across Pennsylvania.
