Dear Friends, 

I made a new friend while celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. 

ACLAMO began our amazing Mentoring and Career Development Program earlier this month. Unfortunately, one new 1st grader was upset on her first day because she missed her mom. I tried to make her feel better and asked if she wanted to be my new assistant. I lent her my hand, and we walked around to make sure everything was running smoothly. Later, we went to her new classroom, and she saw one of her friends. While I was sad to lose my new assistant, I was thrilled to see her come back with a big smile the next day, ready to learn and have fun.
