The story of Luna Moskal, a brilliant student who went from ACLAMO’s classrooms to pursuing a promising and successful career.
“ACLAMO has been an important part of my life for a long time and helped shape me into the person I am today. I started at ACLAMO during my first years of elementary school. I attended the after-school program, receiving assistance with homework, improving my literacy and public speaking skills, and tackling school subjects that were challenging to me at that time. ACLAMO also supported me in developing socialization skills with peers and adults, volunteering with my community, and learning to work in a team. This organization gave me the foundation to be a strong student.
In high school, I worked at ACLAMO as an Assistant Teacher in the Summer Bridge program. I was able to directly interact with students in my community and deliver the same impact that I received when I was younger. I helped create engaging S.T.E.A.M. lesson plans and activities for our students, teach the English language, and equip them with the confidence to be curious students!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I found another opportunity to work with ACLAMO. We created a survey to understand the health, personal, and service needs of our community during this difficult time.
I have been able to experience the impact that ACLAMO has on their families first-hand. My journey at ACLAMO empowered me to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where I have recently graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Keeping ACLAMO’s philosophy close to heart, I look forward to starting my business banking job in Seattle, WA and delivering excellent client services.
Thank you, ACLAMO, for believing in me and empowering Latino students to be brilliant!”
