Bilingual Social Services and Housing Stability Program Manager

The BILINGUAL SOCIAL SERVICES AND HOUSING STABILITY PROGRAM MANAGER provides overall leadership and direction to the Social Services and Housing Stability Department staff. The position includes the following essential functions:

Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversee and sets goals and objectives for all of ACLAMO’s social services programs and ACLAMO’s Housing Resource Center including Intake and Referral, Case Management,
Housing Stability Coaching, Fatherhood Initiative, Senior Services, Immigration Counseling and Parenting Programs.

  • Provide direction and supervision to all program staff including annual appraisals for each staff member.
  • Conduct supervisory and case review meetings with staff to review progress on program goals and objectives
  • Coach, mentor and counsel members of the department and answer questions or give advice to staff members as needed
  • Recruit, screen, and take in applicants for positions in the social services department. Create a training protocol for new department staff members
  • Maintains official records and documents, and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations
  • Provide case management services and case management support for adults, seniors, students and families including parents with children.
  • Coordinate efforts between members of the social services team members, other internal programs or outside partners to ensure efficiency.
  • Tracks outcomes of all applications submitted and gather data so outcomes can be entered into the HMIS system. Enter information into the HMIS system.
  • Provide parenting classes and/or coordinated other life skills trainings for families and/or children.
  • Provide any financial literacy, landlord/tenants and homeownership education and information directly to clients or through workshops, trainings and seminars.
  • Researches and implements best pratices, data entry, curriculum, stadistics and/or any other information we may need for program development.
  • Attend all ACLAMO staff meetings, field trips and trainings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services with at least 3 years of experience supervising social services and/or housing programs. Degrees should be from an accredited college or university in human services, social services and related field of studies.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English required.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft programs, eg. Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Work with a variety of data management using standardized methods and job-related equipment including ability to enter and track client’s data.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills
  • Work at establishing a base of trust with each resident or community member.
  • Be a passionate supporter of ACLAMO’s mission, vision and programs
  • Maintain awareness of culturally diverse consumer populations and perform duties in a culturally competent manner.
  • Observe confidentiality, privacy, and dignity of each person in the program

Special Notes:

  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers’ license, automobile insurance and daily access to an automobile and cell phone.
  • This position requires weekdays, some saturdays and some nights and/or weekends.
  • This position requires visual and auditory acuity and the physical ability to ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps among others. Adjusting, lifting up, carrying up or moving objects up to 35 pounds in all directions. Standing or sitting for prolonged periods, walk and work in your feet for a minimun of 6 hours at a time.
  • Must obtain the following three clearances:
    • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance;
    • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check; and
    • Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check.
