Operations Director

Part-Time (Norristown), Norristown Chamber of Commerce

The Norristown Chamber of Commerce is seeking candidates for the Operations Director position that would assist the Chamber in the coordination and execution of our monthly meetings, special events, and PR strategies. This position is a tremendous opportunity for you to network with Norristown’s vibrant business community. The Operations Director will complete the following essential functions:

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Correspondence to Current and Potential Members.
  • Special Event Coordination and Support.
  • Website Content Monitoring and Preparation.
  • Outreach to Guest Speakers and/or Workshop Trainers.
  • Management of the Chamber’s Social Media Accounts.
  • Attending Monthly General Membership and Executive Board Meetings.
  • Materials Preparation (including possible opportunities for copywriting, design, & photography).
  • Maintain financial records and filing.
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors.
  • Maintain a data entry system for services rendered to track outcomes.
  • Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation.
  • Arrange, attend, schedule, and coordinate all event logistics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Media platforms.
  • Marketing and Business majors are encouraged to apply.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Proficient-level written and verbal communication skills, a strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important.
  • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of the Chamber.

Special Notes:

  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers’ license, automobile insurance and daily access to an automobile and cell phone.
  • This position requires visual and auditory acuity and the physical ability to climb stairs, stand for long periods of time, walk distances, and lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Must obtain the report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police.
