Social Services and Housing

ACLAMO’s Social Services department assists individuals and/or families with intake and referrals and case management services to resolve conflicts in housing and utilities, employment and income support, food distribution efforts, immigration consultation services, and other services in mental health and domestic violence. We also have a branch in Senior Services, a Housing Program, and a Fatherhood Initiative Program.

Information and Referrals

Our Information & Referral branch works to fulfill client’s short-term needs and connect them with the appropriate social, educational and health resources within ACLAMO or external local, affordable providers. They register all clients for ACLAMO’s education programs and other social services needs which include appointment reminders and donation allocation.

Case Management

  • Our Social Services Department works to provide long-term case management to individuals or families who need assistance in food security; interpretation and translation; court processes in domestic, divorce, or child custody matters; finding employment and/or training; inform families on juvenile justice cases; completing higher education applications and other systems navigation assistance.
  • Other: Specialist appointments, social security benefits, student services, US Passports, Victims of crime, vital records, language support, over the counter orders.

Housing Program

Our Housing Program is designed to decrease housing instability among residents and help clients achieve their housing goals. Our Housing Program is comprised of a Housing Stability Coach Program Manager and multiple Housing Counselors. Our Housing Counselors support clients seeking rental and/or utility assistance, provide short-term case management in housing dispute and housing acquisition to ensure a safe, healthy housing environment. Counselors provide individual services to program participants, including intakes & assessment, services eligibility, identification of immediate needs, and linkages to appropriate resources.

Food Distribution

All departments support our food distirbution initiatives. ACLAMO is a registered food pantry, and we connect individuals and families to food resources. We also hold a weekly contactless drive-thru/walk-up food distribution event where individuals may receive produce bags, a perishable food box, PPE, feminine products, diapers, and other necessary products.

Seniors Services Support

The Senior Services Specialist works with Latino elders through case management, home visits, food baskets, and health care navigation. They create a comprehensive client-driven case plan with both short-term and long-term goals identified with each senior or older adult while monitoring progress towards those goals in regularly scheduled sessions evaluating. Case plans are adjusted as needed.

Fatherhood Initiative Program

ACLAMO’s Fatherhood Initiative Program engages fathers to learn about child development and discuss parenting strategies. Classes are regularly held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The result is creating informal, virtual sessions for fathers to come together, connect, and support one another on their parenting journey. As a multi-service organization, ACLAMO connects fathers to other services that they can benefit from such as: immigration services, food distribution initiatives, and emergency rent and utility assistance among others. Participants have expressed gratitude for these connections during a very stressful time and staff report that dads are connecting with their children and learning new parenting skills.
